Description

Nutwalls Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of plastered cob on stone rubble footings, with stone rubble and brick stacks topped with plaster. The roof is thatched, with corrugated iron to outshots. Originally a small, gable-ended, two-room cottage facing west, it features projecting end stacks for each room; the right-hand stack includes a thatched oven projection. The two rooms have been combined, and rear outshots now contain service rooms. The main house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window front with 19th-century casement windows with glazing bars; the ground-floor windows are slightly taller than those on the first floor. A central doorway has a 20th-century door and a contemporary monopitch, tile-roofed porch. The interior has not been inspected.
