Description

Neopardy Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1850-1860. It is constructed of brick on rubble footings, with squared Beer stone dressings only on the front. The roof is slate, featuring brick chimneys—three on the gable slopes and one large axial chimney on the rear wing, with two of the stacks capped in Beer stone and the wing stack extended. The building is L-shaped, with a gable-ended main block facing south. This block has a double-depth, two-room layout with a central staircase and a rear service block at right angles behind the east end.

The farmhouse is two storeys high, with half-basements and attics. The symmetrical front has three windows and chamfered Beer stone quoins. The central entrance features a four-panel door with a rectangular fanlight, framed by a simple Beer stone doorcase with a plain hood supported by carved scroll brackets. The windows are 16-pane sashes with Beer stone architraves, quoined sides, and segmental heads with key stones. The basement has plain sash windows. The right side chimney includes round-headed attic windows with glazing bars on each side, while the rear has casements with glazing bars. Additionally, spear-headed iron railings extend southward along the sides of the front garden. This farmhouse is remarkably unaltered for its period.
