Description
The former school and master's house, now a single residence, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stucco on rubble, with a stack of exposed rubble topped with later 19th-century brick, and features a slate roof. The building has a gable-ended block facing southwest, with the master's house located at the left (northwest) end and the school occupying the remainder.
The front has three windows, divided by stucco pilaster strips that rise to a flat horizontal band near the eaves, creating three uneven bays. The school door, which is a plank door with an overlight featuring glazing bars, is located in the narrow right bay. The central bay is wider with two windows, while the narrow left bay for the master's house has one window on each floor, with the upper window breaking through the horizontal band. All windows are 20th-century casements, but the blocked 4-centred arches above indicate their original positions. The building has a coved eaves cornice and a low pitch roof. The door to the master's house is concealed by a 20th-century porch on the left end. The interior has not been inspected.
