Description
Coombestockhaies is a detached house that was formerly a farmhouse, possibly dating back to the 16th century, with later alterations. The building is constructed of cob with a stone plinth and is plastered, topped with a half-hipped roof made of corrugated iron and asbestos tiles. Originally, it had a three-room, cross-passage layout with a rear wing at the lower end. The house has two storeys, and the front features 19th and 20th century two- and three-light casement windows, while part of the inner face of the wing is weatherboarded. The interior has not been inspected. This building adds to the character of the village and may contain historical features, including possibly an early roof.
