Description
Holly Cott and The Myrtles are two houses that were formerly one dwelling, located at the end of a row on Fore Street in Bradninch. They date from the late 1830s but may have an earlier core. The structure is made of cob with a stone plinth and is rendered under a gabled slate roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall.
The front features a three-window range beneath overhanging eaves and a gutter box. All windows, three on each floor, have two 10-pane hornless sashes. There are two entrances; the main entrance is on the right and has a pediment and architrave, with panelled reveals and a door that has glazed upper panels. The left entrance is a plain 20th-century doorway. The building has three stacks with brick shafts located just behind the roof ridge. The left-hand end facing Hen Street has a mix of 19th and 20th-century windows. The interior has not been inspected. This building is situated on an important site at the foot of Fore Street.
