Description

BRADNINCH ST 90 NE 4/9 Peterhaies - - II House, formerly a farmhouse. Late Cl6 with C19 alterations. Cob, stone plinth, plastered under corrugated-iron roof. Formerly a 3-room, through passage house with higher end to right of passage. 2 end stacks, that to the right external; axial stack heating Hall and backing on to passage. All with brick shafts. 2 storeys. Front: 4 window range, three 2-light and one 3-light casement windows to 1st floor, and 2 of 3 and 1 of 2 lights to ground floor, all C19 with 6 panes per light; door, panelled below, glazed above, under gabled timber porch on shaped brackets. Outshuts under catslide roof to rear with C19 windows. Interior: lower-end room with large concealed end fireplace with deep cupboards to either side; Hall with 3 axial beams, 2 with composite ovolo and concave moulding, the central with 2 ovolo mouldings. Rough, chamfered beam to inner room. C17 newel staircase with original treads and risers, and contemporary splat balusters to landing. Internal plank doors, and door surrounds survive intact. Roof C19 throughout.
