Description
The Cottage is a small house that was originally two cottages with an adjoining byre and hay loft, likely built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. It was extended around 1970. The structure features plastered cob on rubble footings, a rubble stack with a brick top, and a thatched roof, along with a 20th-century blockwork extension. Originally, the building consisted of a pair of one-room cottages with mirrored plans on either side of an axial stack, with the byre located at the west end. The house is two storeys tall and has an irregular four-window front with 19th and 20th-century casements that include glazing bars. The central ground floor windows are in their original positions, but the original doorways on either side have been blocked. One of the two first-floor windows on the left side remains intact. The roof is half-hipped at both ends, and the entry is now located at the left end leading to the 20th-century block. The interior features plain carpentry.
