Description
Woodland Cross Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the 18th century and was enlarged around 1970. It features plastered cob on rubble footings and a brick stack, topped with a wheat reed thatched roof. There is a 20th-century plastered blockwork extension that also has a thatched roof. The main block, which faces south onto the road, has a two-room plan divided by a cob crosswall. The larger room on the right includes a fireplace in the end wall and the 20th-century extension is located behind it. The cottage is two storeys high and has a two-window front with 20th-century wooden casements. The door has been relocated from the center to the left side, which is sheltered by a plain 20th-century porch. The roof is hipped on each side and gabled at the rear. Inside, the main room features a plain chamfered crossbeam and two original doorframes with solid frames and beaded surrounds. The roof structure is not accessible.
