Description
East Ford Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of plastered cob and rubble, with rubble stacks topped with brick and a thatched roof that is half-hipped on each side. The building has two storeys and features a double depth plan with two rooms at the front and two at the back. There are end stacks that serve only the rear (east-facing) rooms. A central cross passage runs through the front rooms.
The east-facing front, which faces the drive, has an asymmetrical arrangement of three windows, a central door, and a 20th-century porch. The first-floor window is centrally located but slightly to the left. The west front has a secondary door on the left side, which is sheltered by an open-sided porch with a thatched roof. The windows throughout the farmhouse are small wooden casements, mostly dating from the late 19th and 20th centuries, and are primarily two-lights. The interior features plain carpentry and fittings.
