Description
33 and 33A Fore Street is a house that has been converted into a house and shop, dating from the early to mid 19th century. The building features solid, roughcast walls with a stuccoed front and hipped slate roofs with brick stacks. It has an L-plan layout, with No.33A forming the rear wing that faces Stafford Place.
The exterior of No.33, which faces Fore Street, consists of three storeys and has a three-window front with a 20th-century shop front. The first-floor windows are segmental-arched 6/6-pane sashes, and there are flat arches over similar sashes on the second floor. A plat band runs to the parapet, topped with a moulded cornice. The roof dormers contain mid-20th century 2-light casements.
No.33A is two storeys high and two windows wide, with a large windowless area to the left that is slightly splayed back. There is one window per storey in the gable wall to the left. The windows have flush framed, 6-paned sashes, except for the right side of the ground storey, where the sashes are 8-paned. The door on the left side of the ground storey is a 4-panelled design, with the two lower panels flush, and features an old letterbox and a 3-paned fanlight. The interior has not been inspected.
