Description
33 and 33A Market Row is a shop located in Great Yarmouth, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and features pantiled roofs with two parallel ranges. It stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The shop front was replaced in the 20th century with a glazed design. On the first floor, there are two 8/8 sash windows set within flush frames and beneath segmental gauged skewback arches, with two similar sash windows on the second floor. The roof is gabled. The rear range has two 20th-century metal casement windows, one on each floor, and the gable head has been rebuilt. A timber passage was added in the 1930s at the first floor to connect with No.33A. Inside, the ground floor features exposed bridging beams that have been reused, and the second-floor front room includes a timber fire surround from the early 19th century with eared detailing.
