Description
35 and 36 Market Row are a pair of shops built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick and feature a pantiled roof. The building stands three stories tall and has a five-window range. The late 19th-century shop fronts are made of plate glass with recessed entrances. Scrolled cast-iron brackets with leaf patterns support the timber stiles that separate the sheets of glass. A prominent fascia board with a dentilled cornice runs along the top. The first floor has five 6/6 recessed sash windows under gauged skewback arches. On the second floor, there are three 3/3 unhorned sash windows on the left and two 20th-century casements on the right, all set in recesses. The roof is gabled and hipped to the west. Inside, the first and second floors have been opened up into two large rooms.
