Description
These gates and gatepiers, located 12 metres north-west of Ebford Manor, date from around 1710. The gates are made of wrought iron and feature fixed side panels, while the attached wall is constructed of brick in Flemish bond. The gate has an elaborate overthrow adorned with intricate bifurcated scrollwork and foliage, and the central panel may include complex concealed initials. The main gate consists of 10 verticals, with 4 of them coupled to create 2 openwork vertical panels. It also has a lock rail with finials and spiked finials on the bottom rail. The side panels are made up of 6 coupled verticals and are topped with complex finials, although the finial on the right side is partly missing.
