Description
Park Cottages is a house, likely originally two cottages, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with some modernisation in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of plastered cob, possibly without stone footings, and features cob and brick stacks topped with 19th and 20th-century brick. The thatch roof covers a plan where the two cottages are built back-to-back, with one facing the lane to the northwest and the other facing southeast. Each cottage has its own separate roof and a south-west gable-end stack. The building is two storeys high. The front and back walls have 20th-century window fronts, and both doorways contain 20th-century doors. The roofs are gable-ended and parallel. Inside, both rooms feature a plain chamfered crossbeam, and the central axial partition is timber-framed. Both fireplaces are blocked, and the roofs were not inspected. The Green area includes a charming group of thatch-roofed houses.
