Description
Rose Cottage is a cottage, probably from the 19th century, that was thoroughly refurbished around 1970. It is built of plastered cob on stone rubble footings, with the south end wall weather-boarded. The cottage features stone rubble or brick stacks topped with 20th-century brick and has a thatch roof. The plan consists of a two-room layout, backing onto the lane and facing east. The right (north) room has a projecting rear lateral stack. The exterior has an irregular two-window front with 20th-century casements that include glazing bars. The main front doorway is located to the right of centre and features a 20th-century door with a contemporary gabled porch. There is a secondary door at the left end, and the roof is gable-ended. The Green area contains an attractive group of small thatch-roofed houses. The interior has not been inspected.
