Description

Compass Cottage is an 18th-century cottage range located on South Street in Colyton. The walls are of plastered cob and the roof is thatched, with gabled and hipped ends. The cottage is two storeys high and has a five-window front. The windows are mostly 19th-century and modern, with two lights and glazing bars. A small, early 19th-century shopfront is on the right-hand side, featuring glazing bars, an entablature, and a glazed door. Two other doorways have been blocked and replaced with casements. Brick chimney stacks are positioned at the ridge and ends of the roof.
