Description
Bulverton Farmhouse is a building that dates back to the 18th century or possibly earlier. It is a low, two-storey structure made of cob and stone rubble, which is plastered. The front of the farmhouse faces the road at a right angle. Originally thatched, it now features a pantile gable end roof. The building has five windows, including two at the ends and three light 19th-century casements. There is a gabled porch, and at the rear, there is an external chimney made of red brick with offsets. A thatched barn and a cob outbuilding that were once nearby have been demolished. The farmhouse is part of a small rural development located just north of Sidmouth, at the junction of Bulverton Road and Dark Lane. Bulverton Farmhouse and the outbuildings across the road create a cohesive rural group.
