Description
Clay Walls is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of cob with plastered cladding, and the gable walls have been rebuilt in brick. The house features a thatched roof, with an end stack to the right and a ridge stack to the left of the center. The layout is a three-unit plan, and it stands two storeys tall. The windows show irregular fenestration, with three on the first floor and five on the ground floor, all of which are wooden casements, some featuring lead lattice glazing. There is a panelled door located to the right of the center, topped with a conical thatched hood. At the rear, there are three ground-floor casements. Additionally, there is a single-storey extension on the right side, also thatched, which includes four three-light casements and two doors; one is a stable-type door, while the other is set in deep reveals.
