Description
October Cottage is a cottage dating back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The ground floor is timber-framed and rendered, with red brick under the eaves, and sits on a painted wall-plate. It has a low-pitched slate roof with a brick ridge towards the left. The cottage is two storeys high, with an irregular two-window front featuring 20th-century wooden casement windows in segment-headed surrounds on the ground floor. A panelled door is located at the extreme left. The box frame includes a queen-post roof, exposed at the west end, which demonstrates the extent of the roof’s raising in a later period.
