Description
The Red Lion is a public house dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of painted brick in Flemish bond and features a concrete tiled roof with ridge and end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and overhanging eaves supported by console brackets. The front is almost symmetrical with a three-window range; the first floor has 16-pane hornless sash windows flanking a 12-pane window, all under rubbed brick window arches. On the ground floor, there are 16-pane sash windows on either side of a porch that has pilasters and a moulded cornice supported by simple brackets. The porch includes a half-glazed door with an overlight featuring decorative glazing bars. To the right, there is a lower extension with a single 3-light casement window on the first floor. The rear of the building has various casement windows set under segmental heads.
