OTTERTON FORE STREET (north side), SY 0885 Otterton 7/153 Otterton Brook leat walls and bridges over alongside north side of road GV II

Leat walls and bridges. C19 and C20. Walls of random local rubble, parts with hard limestone and granite coping, most with C19 or C20 brick coping. Some patching of C19 and C20 brick or C20 concrete. The bridges are of various C19 or C20 dates and various material; timber, stone rubble or brick. The leat allows Otterton Brook to run down Fore Street and is crossed by a number of small bridges. It is a very important visual feature of Otterton Village and Fore Street includes a number of attractive listed buildings.
