Description
Jessamine Cottage is a mid-19th century cottage that may incorporate earlier elements. It is constructed from random rubble sandstone and limestone, topped with a hipped slate roof featuring red ridge tiles. The cottage has a single-depth, one-room plan with a rear outshut and retains the remains of an external rear lateral stack, along with a right-hand internal end stack. It stands two storeys high and has a front elevation with a two-window range. The first floor features one 12-pane and one 16-pane hornless sash window, while there is another 16-pane sash window to the right of the door. The door itself has fielded panels and a rectangular fanlight, and is sheltered by a simple canopy supported by shaped brackets. The cottage is included for its group value.
