Description
The Maton monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Andrew, approximately 4 meters west of the tower. It dates from the mid-19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a tall chest with a moulded table and base, set on a stone platform. It has recessed corner pilasters and inscribed panels with fluted tops, which are divided by a draped urn. The monument commemorates Leonard Pitt Maton, who died in 1863.
