Description

The Mattock and Newman monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Peter, approximately 5 meters north of the chancel. This 18th-century tomb is made of limestone and features a hipped roof, a cyma table, and a moulded base. The sides and ends of the tomb are fielded, and it commemorates John Mattock, who died in 1745, his wife, and Daniel Newman, who possibly died in 1780, along with other family members.
