Description
The Bell Inn is an inn dating from the late 18th century, located on the west side of High Street in Cheverell Magna. It is constructed of colourwashed brick set on a greensand plinth, topped with a tiled roof. The building has two storeys, an attic, and cellars, featuring five bays. There is a return along Church Street with two additional bays, and a three-bay extension to the left, built in English bond, which was formerly stables with accommodation above and is now used as garages. The entrance is located in the central bay, accessed by a brick flight of steps, leading to a boarded door. The windows are 19th-century three-light casements in segmental-headed openings, with two-light windows on the first floor, including one with a stone surround. The eaves are open, and there are two gabled dormers along with a central brick stack. The interior has been altered.
