Description

The railings and gates to the churchyard in Cheverell Magna date from the 19th century and form the entrance from the street to the churchyard. They are made of cast iron and are set on a low brick wall topped with stone copings. The railings feature pointed arches below the top rail and have spear-headed terminals above. The central pair of gates includes straight braces to the dog rails, which are also spear-headed, and an overthrow that originally held a lantern, now replaced by a bulkhead light. To the right, there is a kissing gate, and the stanchions are topped with vase terminals.
