Description
The Newman family monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Peter, approximately 5 metres south of the south aisle. This early 18th-century monument is made of limestone and features partially legible inscriptions on all four sides dedicated to members of the Newman family, with an inscription on the east end that includes the date 1735. The tomb has a moulded plinth and double bombe sides, with inset corners. It is capped with a moulded margin and has a square moulded plinth that supports a large ball finial above. Additionally, there are carved scrolls on either side of the plinth.
