Description

This farmhouse dates from approximately the 1850s to 1860s. It is constructed from limestone ashlar with a slate roof. The building comprises two gabled wings, linked by a narrower recessed bay containing the front door. The entrance is a two-panelled door with sidelights, sheltered by a canopy supported by cast iron brackets. Each wing has three-light windows, and the first floor features canted oriels resting on moulded corbels, topped with parapets. All windows are fitted with extended hexagonal iron glazing. The gables have moulded barge boards with decorative pendants at the apex. The farmhouse has brick chimney stacks with diagonally set brick shafts – four to the left and two pairs of two to the right.
