Description

Rectory Cottage is an 18th-century cottage, extended in the early 19th century. It is located on the south side of Church Street, Collingbourne Ducis. The original building is constructed of colourwashed flint with brick quoins, and the extension is of brick with laced flint. The entire structure is covered by a thatched roof. The original portion is a single-storey, two-bay building with an attic, while the later extension adds a single bay to the right. The original building has a symmetrical facade, featuring a 20th-century timber door in the centre. It has two-light windows with leaded glazing, and two flush dormers. A substantial brick stack is located at the left end, before the extension. The extension has 19th-century timber windows and one flush dormer. A stack is also present on the right gable. The roof is half-hipped to the left. An outshut extends to the rear on the left bay, under the continuation of the roof, with two flues at the junction of the original building and outshut.
