Description
Pound Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of rendered rubble stone and features a thatched roof with a coped verge on the right side and brick stacks at the gable ends. The cottage is single storey with an attic and has three windows. The central entrance is a half-glazed door with a gabled hood, flanked by a three-light 20th-century casement window on each side. The attic includes two eyebrow dormers, each with two-light casements, as well as a central raking dormer. On the right side, there is a single stone window surround to the left and a wooden casement window in the attic. The rear of the cottage features a three-light hollow-chamfered mullioned casement with a hoodmould to the left, alongside 20th-century two-light and three-light casements on the right. The first floor has three two-light casements. Attached to the right is a 20th-century addition that replaced former outbuildings. Inside, the cottage retains two open fireplaces with chamfered lintels set on stone jambs, as well as a chamfered ceiling beam with stepped stops.
