Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 17th century, with additions from the 18th and 20th centuries. It is built of rubble stone and features a thatched half-hipped roof with brick stacks. The cottage is a single storey with an attic and has three windows. The front includes a planked door and a three-light recessed chamfered mullioned leaded casement to the left, along with a single-light recessed chamfered casement, a planked stable door, and a two-light casement to the right. The attic has three two-light casements in eyebrow dormers. The right-hand bay is a later addition, likely from the 18th century. There is a 1960s addition attached to the right, which is not of special interest. At the rear, there are two-light and single-light casements, including one in a blocked doorway, and a two-light casement for the attic. Inside, the cottage features deep chamfered beams with stepped stops and a restored open fireplace with a chamfered lintel at the south end.
