Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made around 1800. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a hipped two-span tiled roof, with an axial brick stack at the rear and gable end brick stacks at the front. The building consists of two parallel ranges and has a two-storey, three-window south front. The central entrance has a six-panelled door within a 20th-century porch, flanked by 16-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there are three 12-pane sashes.

To the right of the main structure is a single-storey addition from around 1920, made of ashlar and featuring sash windows. The right return of the rear range includes a half-glazed door and a 12-pane sash, with a 6-pane sash and a 4-pane fixed window on the first floor. The left return has a six-panelled door in a timber porch, a two-light casement to the right, and a 16-pane sash to the left, with a straight joint between the two ranges. The first floor on this side has two 6-pane sashes. The rear of the farmhouse contains casements and sashes, and there is a former baffle entry to the rear range within a single-storey extension. The rear courtyard is enclosed by single-storey 19th-century outbuildings.

Although the interior was not accessible during the survey in April 1986, it is reported to contain window shutters, six-panelled doors, and 19th-century fittings. This manor was part of the demesne of Shaftesbury Abbey.
