Description

Nos 7 and 7A, with walling on the east side, are two houses that were originally five cottages, built around 1800. The structure is made of coursed rubble stone and features a Welsh slate roof with coped verges and stone stacks. It is three stories high and has three windows on the front facade. There are two blocked doorways, with the right-hand one having a flat stone hood. The windows include a 2-light hollow-chamfered mullioned casement and a single-light casement on the ground floor, two 2-light mullioned casements on the first floor, and a combination of one 3-light and two 2-light mullioned casements with hoodmoulds on the second floor.

The left side has a 20th-century panelled door with a flat stone hood, a blocked doorway with a flat stone hood, a 20th-century door, and a 4-pane sash window. The first and second floors on this side feature 3-light mullioned casements and 4-pane sashes. The left return has a blocked doorway and a 4-pane sash. The right return includes a 2-light flush mullioned sash on the ground floor. The rear of the building has a glazed door and four 2-light cyma-mullioned casements on the first and second floors.

The interior was not accessible during the survey in June 1987. Attached to the rear left is a 2.5-metre high rubble stone boundary wall with flat coping, and a wrought-iron gate is hung on plain ashlar piers with reeded cappings to the left. This wall runs up to Nos 1, 2, 3, and 4.
