Description

Cawdrey’s Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse, now a house, located on Marlborough Road in Sunton. The building is constructed of flint with brick dressings and lacing to the front, and has a tiled roof. It originally comprised three bays, with a rear wing of two bays, single storey and attic, containing the kitchen and domestic quarters. An outshut, now containing the main entrance and staircase, runs alongside the original plan. The south front features a central half-glazed door and a plat band. It has twelve-paned sash windows, which have been renewed, with brick lintels interrupting the plat band. There are gable stacks. The outshut has a continuation of the roof slope and includes two dormers. A 20th-century lateral wing at the rear, used as games facilities, is not of special interest.
