Description
This milestone, located about 300 metres north of Longhedge Farm, dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. It has a weathered top and features clear lettering on the front that reads: "To / Salisbury / III miles / To Marlboro / XXIV miles." The Salisbury - Amesbury toll road, which this milestone references, was completed around 1850.
