Description

This milestone, located about 150 metres east of the entrance to Bake Farm, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of painted limestone and features a plain design with a weathered top. The front of the milestone has incised plain lettering that reads: SARUM/ 2/ BLANDFORD/ 20. The Salisbury - Blandford toll road was completed around 1775.
