Description

This milestone, located about 300 metres east of the junction with Old Blandford Road, dates from the late 18th century. It is made of painted limestone and features a weathered top with incised lettering that reads "SARUM/1/ Blandford/21". The Salisbury - Blandford toll road, which this milestone marks, was completed around 1775.
