Description

Court Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse that has been altered in the 18th century and is now a detached house. It features painted rubble stone and a steep tiled roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. The building is two stories high and has three windows across the front. The central entrance consists of a 9-panelled door set beneath a wooden flat-roofed porch. To the right of the door, there is a 2-light casement window, and to the left, a 3-light casement window. On the first floor, there are three 3-light casements. The left side of the building has a single casement window in the attic, while the right side has a single casement window on the ground floor. At the rear, there is a gabled stair turret on the left, which features a wooden ovolo-mullioned window and 2-light casements, along with a lean-to extension on the right.

Inside, the farmhouse has planked and wainscot panelled doors set in ovolo-moulded doorcases, deeply chamfered beams with run-out stops, and a bolection-moulded fireplace in the room to the left of the hall. The stair turret contains winding newel stairs with moulded risers and an ovolo-moulded doorway at the bottom. The original roof is five bays wide, featuring cambered collars and two tiers of butt purlins.
