Description
The Royal Oak is an inn located on Frome Road in Corsley. It dates from the mid-18th century and the 19th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone with a tiled roof and brick stacks. It is two stories high and features five windows. The 19th-century porch is flanked by canted bays that contain 16-pane sash windows. To the left of the porch is a 20th-century door, while to the right is a 3-light casement and a half-glazed 20th-century door. On the left side, there is a 3-light, beaded mullioned casement. The first floor has two 3-light casements, a blocked 2-light window, and additional 3-light beaded mullioned casements, with a straight joint to the left of the right-hand door. The right side of the building is rendered and has a 2-light casement on the first floor. The left side features 2-light segmental-headed 6-pane fixed windows with brick dressings, leading to a single-storey 19th-century addition. There are also single-storey rear extensions, mostly from the 19th century.
