Description

Corsley Mill is a detached house that was originally a miller's house, dating from around 1700 with 20th-century additions. The building is constructed of English bond brick with chamfered stone quoins and a moulded stone plinth, topped by a hipped tiled roof and featuring an axial brick stack. It is two storeys high with five windows. The central door has six reeded panels and a transom light, topped by a large segmental hood on brackets that bears an illegible inscription tablet. On either side of the door are 4-pane sash windows set in moulded architraves. The first floor has a moulded string course and plat band, with five moulded stone cross windows above. The eaves cornice is also moulded, and there is a hipped dormer with a 20th-century casement window in the attic.

To the right of the main building is a garage from the 1970s, which is not of special interest. The left side features blocked cross windows and an extension from the 1980s. At the rear, there is a 20th-century porch to the left, a cross window to the right, and three cross windows on the first floor, along with a hipped attic dormer. Inside, the house contains six-panelled doors and a closed string staircase with turned balusters leading to the rear stair hall. A mill has been recorded at this location since the 16th century, leased by various tenants from the Longleat Estate.
