Description
Stockwood Mill is a detached house that was formerly the miller's residence, built in the early 19th century. The structure features coursed rubble-stone walls and a slate roof with gable ends. There are brick stacks on the left-hand gable, which were added in the 20th century. The house is one and a half storeys tall and has three windows. The windows on the ground floor are three-light cast-iron casements with glazing bars that have lozenge intersections, while the first floor has two-light windows. All windows are adorned with flat stone mullions and architraves. The two half-dormers are gabled and include moulded kneelers. The front doorway is centrally located and features a flat stone architrave, a shouldered head, and a moulded cornice. At the left-hand end, there is a single-storey outshut that has a stable-type door with decorative strap-hinges, dating from the 19th century.
