Description
Chatley is a building dating from around 1800, located on Boreham Road in Warminster. It is two storeys high and has a rendered exterior with a slate roof that features projecting eaves and gable end brick chimneys. To the left, there is a staggered extension. The front of the building includes two ranges of glazing bar sash windows and a central set of first-floor French windows that open onto a balcony above the porch. All windows have moulded wooden architraves. There is a small inserted window on the first floor to the left.
The porch is notable for its projecting Doric design, which includes occasional triglyphs and a reeded frieze, along with a moulded cornice and blocking course. The entrance features a six-panel door, with the upper four panels being glazed. Above the door, there is a delicate wrought iron balcony with three panels that have quatrefoils separating the rails, which end in husk motifs.
To the right of the main building is a two-storey mid-19th century coach house, constructed of brick with a hipped tiled roof. This coach house has three panels and a loft on the first floor, along with two panels, a window, and double doors with a segmental relieving sash on the ground floor. There is also a later linking section with a doorway.
