Description

Tamarisk and the adjoining cottage, No 5, are a pair of 18th-century cottages situated at right angles to the road on Stibb Green. They are built of diaper brick with a thatched roof. The cottages are two storeys high and symmetrical. Each cottage has a central entrance within a boarded and slated gabled porch. The windows are timber casements; two-light casements are located in the inner bays, and three-light casements are on the outer bays. The ground-floor windows have segmental arched openings. Gable stacks are present. The rear wall is largely blank, with only two glass block openings visible on the rear of No 4. The cottages represent the last unaltered section of a group of similar cottages surrounding the Green.
