SU 12 NE ODSTOCK LONGFORD PARK

5/136 Old Fire Station to rear of Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 Estate House GV II

Carriage house, now workshops. C18. English bond brick, hipped tiled roof. Square. Single-storey, 4 bays. Front has four tall round-arched doorways with impost band, planked and studded double doors. Stepped brick eaves cornice. Left and right returns are windowless. Rear has two inserted C20 metal casements. Interior has C20 partitions and inserted half-floors. A good surviving example of a carriage house, used as a fire station for the Longford Estate during the late C19 and early C20.
