Description

Longford Castle Bridge is a bridge over the River Avon, built in 1914 by Gambier Parry. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features three segmental arches with cutwaters and octagonal refuges above. The parapet has turned balusters arranged in panels, topped with weathered coping. There is a stone tablet over the central arch on each side, both dated 1914. Each refuge below road level includes one loop. The bridge was built to replace an earlier bridge downstream when the drive was moved about 200 meters north.
