Description

No 25 on Church Street is a wool drying house that has been converted into a craft shop. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of coursed rubblestone with a conical roof made of stone slates. The building has a circular plan and stands two storeys high, featuring four windows. The wide door is framed with plain ashlar, and the windows on both the ground and first floors are single casements set in beaded cases. The interior has been renovated and includes a 20th-century roof, stairs, and first floor. This building is historically linked to Melksham's wool industry from the 18th and early 19th centuries.
