Description
No 2 Church Street is an early to mid-19th century building that stands three storeys tall and features one and two windows across its facade. The front is made of ashlar stone and includes side piers and a simple cornice at the eaves. It has a double roman tile roof and plate glass sash windows, with a single hung window on the first floor. To the right of the centre, there is a blind window with a sash rebate. The ground floor on the right has a modern shop front, while to the left, there is a large segmental arch that is partly tiled, leading to the entrance of No 3. The rear of the passageway is timber framed, dating from the 19th century. This building, along with Nos 2 to 7 and 9 to 12, is part of a group that includes the Emmanuel Baptist Church and its gate and gatepiers.
