Description
Nos 2 and 3 Roundstone Street are a pair of three-storey and attic buildings, dating from around 1790. They feature an ashlar front and are divided into horizontal sections by side piers, cill bands, and a cornice frieze at the top. The buildings have a double Roman tile mansard roof with three raking top dormers. There are three ranges of glazing bar sash windows, with paired windows on the second floor at the sides, where the dormers are wider. The first floor has simplified Venetian windows at the sides and a plain round-headed window in the centre. The ground floor features paired windows and two pedimented doorcases on Doric pilasters flanking an arched through passage.
These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 4, No 5 (Rodney House), stable yard and garden railings, stable buildings and walls, Nos 8 to 13, and No 25 (Lovemead House), as well as a garden wall and gate piers, forming a cohesive architectural ensemble with Polebarn House and its boundary wall, gatepiers, and gates, along with Nos 1 to 6 Yerbury Almshouses on Yerbury Street.
