Description
No. 4 Roundstone Street is a building from around the 1790s that features a front made of ashlar stone. It stands three storeys high and is divided into compartments by side pier strips, cill bands, and a cornice at the top. The façade has three windows with glazing bar sashes. On the ground floor to the right is a round-headed doorway, while to the left is an early 20th-century shop front. Further left, there is a rusticated stone pier that was once part of the appurtenances of Rodney House. The side elevation is slightly set back and was originally a house with a double ridged roof, constructed of brick with flush stone quoins. At the rear, there are two windows with wide surrounds, featuring beaded inner edges and moulded outer edges.
Nos. 2 to 4 (consecutive), No. 5 (Rodney House) with its stable yard and garden railings, stable buildings and walls, Nos. 8 to 13 (consecutive), and No. 25 (Lovemead House), along with the garden wall and gate piers, form a group with Polebarn House and its boundary wall, gatepiers, and gates, as well as Polebarn Road and Nos. 1 to 6 (consecutive) Yerbury Almshouses on Yerbury Street.
