Milestone opposite St Marie's Grange

Milestone. C18 or early C19. Cast-iron triangular pillar with two cast-iron shields, the north one with TO / SARUM / 2 / MILES, the south plate with TO / SOUTHTON / 20 / MILES.

The Southampton to Salisbury Turnpike was complete by circa 1775.

The asset was previously listed twice also under the parish of Clarendon Park at List entry 1355680. This entry was removed from the List on 11 October 2017.
